Softball pushes doubleheader at Benedict to Friday

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Due to a preponderance of precipitation in the greater Columbia area, Carson-Newman softball's doubleheader at Benedict has been pushed back a day to Friday.

The Eagles and the SIAC Tigers will begin play at 1 p.m.  The contest is the first meeting between the Eagles and Tigers.  Carson-Newman is 6-0 against the league since 2014.  C-N last played a SIAC school in 2016, sweeping Clark Atlanta 17-0 in five innings before taking the nightcap 4-0.

Carson-Newmn has outscored its SIAC competition 91-6 over the six meetings since 2014.  Included in that is a school-record 31-3 win over Fort Valley State in 2015.
