Weather alters softball slate with Queens

CHARLOTTE - Thanks to a veritable truckload of rain over the Queen City, Carson-Newman has altered its scheduled Saturday twinbill with the Queens Royals.

The game will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. It will be contested in Jefferson City at The Vick.  The contest will be available on the Eagle Sports Network at cneagles.com/live.

The Eagles ride a five-game winning streak, the longest active streak in the SAC, into the contest.

Conference openers have been a bit of a sticking point for Carson-Newman over the last six seasons.  The Eagles swept Queens at home to open SAC play last year but either split, or were swept the five years prior to that.

The Royals will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak on which they have been outscored 32-9.  That losing streak has come after a five-game win strteak that saw the Royals run-rule three opponents and beat Virginia State 20-0.
