Stansberry selected as BMC Swimmer of the Week

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn – Carson-Newman junior swimmer Margaret Stansberry (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been selected as the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the Week.

During the Eagles most recent meet against the University of the Cumberlands, Stansberry took first place in the 50 free with a time of 23.88 and won the 200 individual medley as well, clocking in at 2:10.97. She also was a member of a group that claimed the top spot in the 200 free relay.

Overall this season, the Knoxville native has four victories to her credit and has also been part of a pair of victorious relay teams.

This is the first BMC Swimmer of the Week award earned by a Carson-Newman student-athlete this season.

Stansberry and her teammates are preparing for their third dual meet of the season on Friday, when they will welcome the King (Tenn.) Tornado to Maddox Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and a full write-up of the event will be available on cneagles.com later that evening.
