COACH OF THE YEAR

Eric Phillips (Cross Country): Promoted from assistant to head coach of cross country during the 2018 season, Phillips helped improve the program all across the board. He guided the women from an 8th place conference finish last year to 4th place this season and produced two All-Conference and All-Region runners on the women's side. One of the his athletes on the men's team qualified for the National Championship, finished in the top-10, and earned the All-American honor. That marks the first time since Carson-Newman made the jump from NAIA to DII that a men's cross country athlete earned All-American.

Simon Duffy (Women's Soccer): Duffy led his group to a 15-4-1 season en route to its fourth-consecutive regular season SAC Championship and its fourth-straight appearance in the SAC Title match. He helped guide the Eagles to the NCAA Southeast Region Semifinal. Three of Duffy's student-athletes received All-America honors for the first time in program history.

Watch list: Chuck Benson, Mike Mincey, Jordan Taylor, Randy Wylie, Suzanne Strudwick
