UPSET OF THE YEAR
Men's Swimming v. Wingate: The No. 20 ranked men's program continued its unbeaten streak at the MSAC pool since the 2013 season when they topped No. 10 Wingate 170.5 to 144.5. Each day of the two-day meet, the Eagles were able to procure the top spot in the first four events.
Men's Golf at the Aflac/Cougar Invitational: In a tournament field that held eight nationally ranked teams, then-No. 16 Carson-Newman picked up its first win of the season with its three best rounds of play in the fall at the Cougar Invitational presented by Aflac back in late September. The Eagles beat out some of the top teams in the nation in No. 2 Lynn, No. 4 Florida Southern, the runner-up, and No. 5 Florida Tech By the end of the first day, the Eagles were second in the field with a two-round total of 569. In the final round, Carson-Newman scored its lowest round of the fall with a 274, pushing the team to a 10-under 843, the lowest 54-hole total for the program since scoring an 840 at the North Georgia Fall Invitational in 2015. Of the four counting scores in the third round from the five-man team, all sat in the 60s, the only time it happened in the first half of the season.
