Fall Frosty Awards Nominees: Female Newcomer of the Year

From now until Jan. 2, the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications Department will debut the Frosty Award nominees for the fall semester.  These are the fall nominees for Female Newcomer of the Year. Thursday, we'll unveil the candidates for Male Newcomer of the Year. 

The 11th annual Frosty Awards will take place April 30 and honor athletic excellence in Carson-Newman's athletic department.

Female Newcomer of the Year 

Alba Delgado (Soccer): The UT Martin transferred battle through injuries to finish tied for the team lead in goals scored with four. Her best game in her first season with Carson-Newman was in the 4-1 win versus Emory & Henry on Sept 20. The midfielder scored twice, one of which was the game-winner to help seal the conference victory. All four of the goals she scored this season were at home. In her 14 appearances, she made 11 starts. 

Cameron Giles (Soccer): Transferring in from UT Chattanooga, Giles was one of eight Eagles to play in all 19 games this season. She scored three goals this season, two of which helped C-N tie Limestone and Young Harris. Her lone assist of the season came in C-N's 1-0 win against Coker on Sept 23. 

Malia Kim (Soccer): Kim was only used as a reserve in her first season with Carson-Newman after one year with Roane State Community College. The midfielder played in 17 games, firing five shots, one of which was on target.
