2023 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Preseason Teams

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman men's soccer placed senior Nic Carsh (Newberg, Ore.) on the South Atlantic Conference men's soccer preseason all-conference first team, as announced by the league office earlier today.

The preseason accolade comes after he earned All-SAC First Team honors in 2022. Previously, Carsh was named to the All-SAC Second Team in 2019 and 2021.

In 16 appearances last season, Carsh tied for the team lead with four goals scored, while assisting on two other goals. The highlight of his 2022 season came when the midfielder scored goals in back-to-back games, both of which were wins over #14 Mars Hill and Newberry. Carsh recorded his second career multi-goal game in a 5-3 win over Spring Hill on Aug 31. 

Entering his fifth playing season with C-N, Carsh has played in 55 games with the Eagles, making 40 starts. He has scored 14 goals, four of which have been game-winners and he has assisted on ten C-N goals.

The honor is the second consecutive season he has been recognized by the league for a preseason honor.

Carson-Newman opens the 2023 season with a neutral site matchup against West Alabama on Aug 31.
