The Eagles Tied for 11th After Day One of UIndy Fall Invitational

CARMEL, Ind. – The Carson-Newman women's golf team finds themselves in 11th place after the first day of the UIndy Fall Invitational, garnering three top-50 finishes. 

Leading the way for the Eagles is sophomore Madison Cline, who saw an 8-stroke improvement from the first 18 holes to the second 18, shooting an 80 in round one and 72 in round two.

The second round for Cline is her best as an Eagle, topping her best round last season, where she shot a 78. Cline finished the day tied for 25th overall and shot eight strokes over par.

Behind Cline is sophomore Ida Petersen, shooting 74 in the first and 83 in the second round. Petersen's first-round performance comes in at more than four strokes below last season's average, which sat at 78.1. Petersen finished the day tied for 42nd.

Rounding out the Eagles in the top 50 is sophomore Caroline Nemes, finishing the day tied for 47th. Nemes shot an 85 in round one and followed it up with a 73 in round two, tying her best round in her time as an Eagle. Nemes finished at 14-over par on the day.

The rest of the Eagles also made significant contributions, with Macy Bromley finishing in 63rd, Ana Herrera tied at 64th, and Ashley Holland tied at 69th.

The Eagles finish the UIndy Fall Invitational tomorrow with the final 18 holes, starting at 9 a.m.
