JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Following their meet to open the year against national-ranked Wingate, Carson-Newman swimming will see the Bluegrass Mountain Conference foe on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3 in the Emory Invite at the Woodruff Physical Education Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Emory comes off a dual meet against BMC opponent Queens on Oct. 20, where the men fell 144-118 and the women lost 186-76. Day one and two will be live streamed through the Emory website here.

Wingate and C-N have not been in the pool since the two saw each other in Jefferson City. The No. 20 Eagle men defeated the No. 10 Bulldogs 170.5 to 144.5. Junior swimmer Caleb Howell went on to win four events over the two-day period. The No. 18 C-N women's side fell to No. 9 Wingate 199.5 to 115.50. Catawba will also be another team in attendance at the Emory Invite.

"For this meet, everything is going to be the same as normal," Coach Jordan Taylor said. "Just going along as we've been doing and training hard. It was an awesome performance against Wingate on both sides and we want to get even better. It's always keeping the bigger picture in mind with a number of our events are ranked at the moment.

"We know Wingate will be wanting blood and revenge but I want to make sure we go in confident. We see it as business as usual, I don't think they are too confident going in but you'll have to deal with different things this time. Dealing with the drive and being on the road with food, hotel, and an invitational side meet. They know they can mix it with some of the best in the country so it is just about execution for us."

Day one's events start at 5:30 p.m. and will last throughout the evening. Stay up to date with the recap and further updates at cneagles.com and on Twitter at @CNAthletics.
