Moisture causes baseball to cancel Saturday game against Bobcats

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - A consistent rain around Mossy Creek caused the Carson-Newman baseball team to cancel its game against the Georgia College Bobcats Saturday afternoon.

The contest was initially pushed to 4 p.m. and the Eagles were at the field going through their normal pregame routines. A rain shower around 3 p.m. hit the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex flooding parts of the field. The two clubs did various activities to pass the time including bowling with paper cups and baseballs, but at 3:30 p.m. the two coaches made the decision that the playing conditions would not be playable Saturday afternoon.

Carson-Newman and Georgia College will play two, nine-inning games Sunday afternoon beginning at noon. A live video and audio stream will be available by visiting cneagles.com/live.
