Eagles and Cobras matchup pushed back one day

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Carson-Newman men's tennis (2-3, 1-0 SAC) will have to wait another day to see action against the Coker Cobras (1-4, 0-1 SAC) as the matchup has been pushed back from Wednesday to Thursday.

Thursday's matchup will be the first between the programs since March 2019 when Coker swept the Eagles by a score of 7-0. The Eagles currently sit at 2-3 on the season after defeating Limestone this past Saturday for their first SAC win of 2021 while Coker was unable to beat #13 Queens and fell 6-1.

This marks the first time Carson-Newman has started 1-0 in SAC play in nine years, or the 2011-12 season when the Eagles took down the Brevard Tornados 5-4. For Coker, they have started 0-1 in conference play for the first time in three seasons (2018-19). They started 2019 off with consecutive losses to both Catawba and Tusculum 5-2 before claiming victory over Newberry by the same score.

Opening serve from the Coker Tennis Courts is set for 2:00 p.m. from Hartsville, S.C. between the Eagles and the Cobras.
