JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman baseball's Ryan Addington (Cincinnati, Ohio) and the beach volleyball duo of Ally King (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Katie Will (Clearwater, Fla.) have been named the Chick-Fil-A Male and Female Athletes of the Week

With the Eagles going 4-0 last week, Addington hit .533 going 8-for-15 with two doubles, six RBIs and eight runs scored in wins over Bluefield State and Brevard to extend his hitting streak to six games. The Cincinnati, Ohio native had three multi-hit games bringing his season total to seven to rank second on the roster. In a doubleheader against Brevard on Saturday, the outfielder went 4-for-5 with four walks, four RBIs and five runs scored.

Overall this season, Addington is hitting .333 with two home runs and nine RBIs with 16 runs scored and a team-leading five stolen bases. He has walked 11 times while striking out just four times on the year while his six doubles lead the team.

Carson-Newman split its first tournament action of the 2016 beach season March 4-5, at the Stetson Sand Tournament by rallying behind a perfect 4-0 record from the Eagles' No. 2 freshmen pairing of Katie Will (Clearwater, Fla.) and Ally King (Cincinnati, Ohio).

The duo combined for a 177 to 141 point spread over four matches on the weekend. All contests needed only two sets to be decided and the duo ranks as the only C-N pairing to be undefeated on the young season.

Will and King put up a 23-21, 25-23 win during the Eagles' 4-1 loss to No. 18 Tulane to begin the tournament Friday morning and followed with a 21-15, 21-11 win later in the day against Missouri Baptist. The two linked up again on Saturdaymorning against Spring Hill to win 21-19, 24-22 and concluded the tournament on top during the Carson-Newman's 3-2 win over Eckerd Saturday afternoon, 21-19, 21-16.
