JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman beach volleyball conlcuded their 2024 season in Tavares, Fla on Sunday morning after a 3-0 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic and a 3-1 loss to Tusculum. 

The Eagles finished the AVCA Small Beach Championships fourth in the silver bracket and eighth overall. 

"This team is a joy to be around and coach. Although this weekend wasn't everything we wanted, it was the best this team has played." said head coach Cat Collins. "We did great things and competed at a high level. I am proud of this season and this team."

Their first dual of the day agaisnt PBA sent the winner to compete for first place in silver bracket and the loser to compete for third. Palm Beach took the match 3-0, finding their wins against Carson-Newman's second, fourth and fifth seeds.

After the decision from the first match, C-N would go on to fight for third place against hometown rivals Tusculum. The Eagles have faced diversity against the Greeneville natives all season, and were 0-3 on the year with the Pioneers before the start of the 11:45 match. Mckenna Hall and Sierra Still were the only Eagle duo to secure a win for their crew, taking the match in straight sets with scores of 21-19 and 21-18. Hall and Still are 2-1 on the weekend and finished the season 5-8 as a pairing. Ehlers and Ille in the third seed and the Hafey sisters in the fourth all fought to three sets in their duals but could not find the results the wanted in the finishing moments.
