JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2023 Academic All-District teams on Tuesday afternoon, with Taylor Adams, Emmagrace Cobb, Julia Wheeler, and Skylor Weaver making the selection.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

This year's selection marks the second season in a row that at least three Eagles have received academic all-district nods. In 2022, Carson-Newman had three athletes recognized, but had not not had a player named to the team since 2015 when outside hitter Sara Fairley earned the laurel after an all-region campaign.

Emmagrace Cobb and Julia Wheeler receive the award for their second years in a row, while Taylor Adams and Skylor Weaver join the nerd herd for the first time.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 9, 2024.
