JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The South Atlantic Conference has selected Carson-Newman Women's Indoor Track & Field to finish third in its annual preseason poll.
The Carson-Newman women have been slotted third of 13 teams in the conference, sitting just behind first-place Wingate, which received 12 first-place votes, and Lenoir-Rhyne, which received one first-place vote.
Sitting close behind Carson-Newman in the poll are Catawba, Anderson, and Tusculum, which place fourth through sixth. Slots seven through ten consist of Lincoln Memorial, Limestone, Newberry, and Mars Hill.
Emory & Henry, Coker and UVA Wise in 11th, 12th and 13th are rounding out the conference's preseason poll.
The 2024-25 season is the first under the direction of Kieran Showler-Davis, who takes over as head coach following a career as a Carson-Newman track and field athlete and an assistant coach under David Needs.
The third-place projection matches the Eagles' third-place finish at last season's indoor track and field SAC Championships.
