JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The South Atlantic Conference has selected Carson-Newman Men's Indoor Track & Field to finish tied for fifth in its annual preseason poll.
The Carson-Newman men are tied for fifth with Catawba among the 13 teams in the conference. Wingate led the charge, topping the poll with 12 first-place votes, while Lenoir-Rhyne collected one first-place vote and sat in second.
Anderson and Tusculum place third and fourth before Catawba and Carson-Newman tie for fifth, each with 97 points.
Lincoln Memorial and Limestone tie for seventh. Newberry, Mars Hill, Emory & Henry, Coker, and UVA-Wise round out the conference in ninth through 13th.
The 2024-25 season is the first under the direction of Kieran Showler-Davis, who takes over as head coach following a career as a Carson-Newman track and field athlete and an assistant coach under David Needs.
The fifth-place projection matches the Eagles' fifth-place finish at last season's indoor track and field SAC Championships.
