Eagles Hit the Court For Preseason Practice

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — With the regular season less than a month away, the Carson-Newman men’s basketball team has been grinding through practice for a week in preparation for the 2009-10 campaign.

The Eagles return two starters from last year’s team that led the SAC in scoring for a second-straight season with an average of 87 points per game, including senior point guard Jordan Dixon (Clinton, Tenn.).

Dixon started 25 games for C-N in 2008-09 and averaged 8.4 points per game and was fourth in the SAC in assists as he dished out a career-high 119 dimes.

C-N will travel to East Tennessee State on Nov. 9 for its only exhibition of the preseason before opening regular season play on the road at Alabama Huntsville on Nov. 16. Tipoff for both contests is scheduled for 7 p.m.
