England cards 75 on second day, moves to tie for 28th at NCAA Super Regional

Day Two Results

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. – An 11 spot move up the leaderboard highlighted Tuesday for Elizabeth England (Oakland, Tenn.) as she now sits in a tie for 28th after the second round of the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship South Super Regional at the Germantown Country Club.

The senior was able to shave five strokes off of her Monday score to put her at 11-over for the tournament with a 75 on the second day, putting her at 155 total through 36 holes.

The senior carded a pair of bogeys in the front nine before shooting for eagle on the ninth hole, putting her at even heading into the turn. She opened the back nine with a birdie before four more bogeys would put her at three over on the day.

She is now one of just four players in the field to card an eagle in the tournament.

"She hit the ball fantastic again," head coach Suzanne Strudwick said of England. "Best ball striking of the spring. She managed to chip much better today also but lost a few loose shots on the last five holes by getting tired and coming out of her swing a bit.

"The difference (from Monday to Tuesday) was a few more putts dropped, including a wonderful eight-foot eagle putt on the ninth! She hit a three-wood right out of the screws and it rolled up to eight-feet away."

No. 5 Barry moved into first place by the end of Tuesday with a 598 total, 22-over par. No. 10 Rollins moved into second at +25 and No. 1 Nova Southeastern now sits at third at 26-over.

Barry's Tilda Larsson remains at the top of the leaderboard at four-under with a 140 total. West Florida's Paloma Vaccaro stayed in second at +2 while Tampa's Kiira Riihijarvi fell to third at three-over.

Heading into the final round, Vaccaro, Riihijarvi and England are the top three of the six individuals who entered without a team. The top three at the end of the third round will move on to the NCAA women's Golf Championships Final.

England will begin her final round of the Super Regional at 9:20 a.m. CDT. Fans are encouraged to follow the live scoring provided by Golfstat.
