JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Middle distance freestyle swimmer Taylor Bing of Memphis, Tenn. has become the 14th female swimmer to sign with Carson-Newman for the Eagles' inaugural swim season.
A product of White Station High School, Bing finished in the top eight at the high school state meet with a 5:07.41 in the 500 freestyle. She also owns a top 16 finish in the 200 free with a 1:56.14.
"I'm pleased to bring Taylor on board," Carson-Newman head coach Paige McCord said. "She brings strong middle distance speeds to our team for the 200 and 500 freestyle."
Bing was a two-time Best of Preps selection in 2011 and 2013. She helped White Station to a third place finish at the Southeastern Championships.
The daughter of Shannon Bing, Taylor was a member of the National Honors Society and the winner of the William H. Sweet and Gold Key in Scholastic Art awards. She plans to study nursing.
