C-N v. Limestone Swimming Highlights

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Occupying the opening spot on the Carson-Newman Athletics New Year's Countdown is Carson-Newman Swimming's first ever victory in an event.

The program – in its inaugural season under coach Paige McCord – won its first event on its first try in its first meet against NCAA competition against Limestone on Oct. 12.

Natalie Burnett, Samantha Starnes, Aly Kaywork and Whitney Owen combined to propel C-N to a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. Owen outswam Limestone's Brianne Jones in the anchor leg to propel the Eagles to a win in the event by a second.

C-N's swimmer's finished with a 1:51:01 while Limestone's swimmers came in with a time of 1:52:06.

The Eagles would go on to fall to Limestone in the dual meet, but not before C-N made history.
