Fall Frosty Awards Nominees: Coach of the Year

From now until Jan. 2, the Carson-Newman Athletic Communications Department will debut the Frosty Award nominees for the fall semester.  These are the fall nominees for Coach of the Year. Saturday, we'll unveil the candidates for Team of the Year. 

The 11th annual Frosty Awards will take place April 30 and honor athletic excellence in Carson-Newman's athletic department.

Coach of the Year

Simon Duffy (Women's Soccer): For the third time in seven seasons in Mossy Creek, Duffy led his team to the NCAA tournament. It marked the 12th appearance to the national tournament for the program. Duffy coached three players to All-SAC caliber seasons, with Abbie Zander making the first-team, Felicia Frick making second-team and Addie Henry making the third-team. His team finished 2023 with an 8-8-3 overall record and a 5-4-2 record in league play.   

Whit Lee (Cross Country): Lee coached top athletes this season, earning three all-conference selections with Katie Smock and Imke Van Gog for the women and Colten Lee for the men. Lee's teams constantly finished amongst the top of the leaderboard, as both sides earned three top-five finishes as a team and the women earned first place at the ASICS Invitational. Lee coached the Eagles to success on a national stage, as the men earned 15th at the Southeast Regional and the women finished 9th

Randy Wylie (Golf): Nationally ranked to start the fall season,Wylie's squad faced its ups and downs in the fall season, but Wylie was consistent in factoring in newcomers such as Nick Daugherty and Noah Cambridge, who both saw success in their fall seasons. Wylie also coached Luke Stock to a top-five finish at the Hurricane Invitational and took his team to a course featured on the PGA Tour. While the fall season featured ups and downs, Wylie's coaching prowess has the Eagles ready to take the spring season on head first
