JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's athletic department has announced the slate of promotions for the 2023 home football schedule.

Season tickets are on sale and can be purchased by visiting cneagles.com/boxoffice. 

Carson-Newman will open up the season with a blackout against Virginia-Lynchburg on Aug. 31 at 7:00 p.m. inside Burke-Tarr Stadium.  The football team will wear its black jerseys, which debuted last season, while a limited supply of free black t-shirts will be available for fans/students at the gate.  All fans are encouraged to wear black for the game.  

When Lenoir-Rhyne visits on Sept. 23, the 1983 National Championship Team will celebrate its 40th reunion.  For more information, visit the following LINK.

Oct. 7 an the Eagles' Mountain Division opener against Tusculum brings a litany of events. The football coaching staff will be wearing patches for the AFCA's annual Coach to Cure MD weekend.  The 1978-79 team will celebrate a reunion, as will the 2013 national runner-up men's soccer program.  Finally, the weekend has been designated a Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness game, and fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.  The annual 5K in remembrance of late Carson-Newman Cheer coach Christy Bowlin will take place the morning prior to the Tusculum game.  

Community Appreciation Day is set for Oct. 21 against Mars Hill.  That day, the football program is offering free tickets to area educators, police/first responders and pastors/church admin staffs for the work they do in the greater Lakeway Region.  

Homecoming and the pomp and circumstance surrounding that annual event is set for Oct. 28 against Emory & Henry.  

The promotions conclude with Senior Day and Veteran's Appreciation Day for the Catawba game on Nov. 11.  In addition to recognizing Carson-Newman football players in their final regular season home game, the program will also pay tribute to the armed forces by offering free admission to all veteran's.
