Quartet of Eagles recognized with spots in NFF Hampshire Honor Society

Hampshire Honor Society Membership

IRVING, Texas – Four Carson-Newman football players have been granted a spot in the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced Wednesday.

Carson-Newman placed offensive linemen Brian Do and Christian Bass, as well as long snapper Andrew Bradshaw and placekicker Christian Erwin on the listing.

The Eagles joined Wingate, Tusculum and Emory & Henry as programs who had players listed from the South Atlantic Conference. Carson-Newman has had 12 players recognized over the last two seasons.

Do and Bradshaw were also recognized for their prowess in the classroom with CSC Academic All-District honors.

Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be either:

  • A senior player, who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2022; or
  • A graduated player, who has been out of high school at least (3) years; And must have:
  • Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); and
  • Been starters or significant contributors (i.e. a captain) throughout the 2023 season.

Christian Bass

Bass battled injuries for his senior season, and was sidelined for much of the year.  His recognition comes through his contributions to Carson-Newman's player committee over the last two seasons.

Andrew Bradshaw

Bradshaw continues a long line of all-conference longsnappers. With Bradshaw's selection, Carson-Newman's last three long snappers – a stretch that dates back to 2012 – have all garnered all-league laurels. Dusty Nance and Dawson Campbell both were three-time honorees.

In 30 career games, Bradshaw has only seen two punts or kicks blocked and those attempts were both 50-plus, line-drive field goals that ricocheted off the line seeking extra distance.

Brian Do

Do was part of an offensive line that allowed the second-fewest sacks in the South Atlantic Conference and the fifth-fewest tackles for loss in the league.  Those figures ranked 16th and 35th, nationally.

Christian Erwin

A weapon on kickoffs, half of Erwin's 18 kicks were in the end zone for touchbacks.  For his career, he made 12 of 24 field goals with a long of 49 yards.
