2023 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams (PDF)

GREENVILLE, Ind.  – Carson-Newman men's soccer had two players recognized on the 2023 Academic All-District teams, Paul Csmarich (Vienna, Austria) and Harry Whitehead(Oxford, England). 

The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

After missing his entire freshman season, Csmarich got healthy for this season and became a fixture in Stephen Lyons' lineup. The midfielder played in 16 of the 17 games and made 15 starts. He recorded his one goal and assist in the same game, a 4-1 win versus Young Harris on Sept 6. This academic all-district honor is the first honor of his career.

Whitehead wrapped up his fifth and final season in Mossy Creek by scoring a team-high four goals to go along with a pair of assists. He appeared in all 17 games this year and concludes his C-N career with 61 total games played. His four goal output in 2023 brought his career total to 17, along with seven career assists. His goal in the season opener versus West Alabama helped the Eagles secure a 2-0 win to start the season. This academic honor gives him three career honors.  

The All-District award winners are recognized by CoSIDA as the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team honorees will be announced in early December.
