Hutson releases fall 2021 Women's Golf schedule

Kelsey Hutson Releases 2021 Fall Schedule

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the first time since 2019, the Carson-Newman women's golf team will tee it up for a fall slate. With the newly hired Kelsey Hutson at the helm, the women look to set the tone early this fall.

The full lineup of fall action brings a lot of optimism to Hutson. She says that "Fall is a great time to get a lot of good golf in and to see what our team is made of. It also lets us see who we're competing against."

Hutson also believes that the experience of an older squad will pay dividends. "Our team is older. We have girls who have already played in some of these tournaments before and they know the course. That is a huge advantage." At the same time, Hutson goes on to say that "We have a really good incoming freshman group, so we are really ready for this season."

The action kicks off on September 13th at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana as the UIndy Invitational returns to the Eagles' calendar. Carson-Newman Women's Golf has faired well at the premire event, bringing home back to back top ten finishes in 2018 and 2019.

The last week of September sees the Eagles travel to McCormick, South Carolina where the Savannah Lakes Fall Invitational will take place on Monticello, one of the most rigorous courses in all of Division II.

After a two week pause, the action continues on the 18th of October as the Eagles head to the Jekyll Island Golf Club for the Jekyll Island Invitational. The Eagles are no stranger to the island, as they brought home a third place finish in 2018.

Fall 2021 action concludes at the familiar Flagler Fall Slam. The Eagles have competed at the Flagler Fall Slam a few times in recent history. Most notable is their 13th place finish in 2019 and the 11th place finish in 2016. Hutson has her own personal experience at the Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine, as she competed there during her playing days in college.

Huston believes this could be a monumental fall for the Eagles. "It is gonna be a great year. The girls are ready. We're ready to qualify, and we're ready to travel."
