ST. AUGUSTINE, F.L - Maeve Cummins is the lead scorer for the Carson-Newman Eagles after one round at the Marsh Creek Country Club.

The Carson-Newman group struggled through round one, seeing only Cummins finish inside the top-20 player leaderboard. As a group, the Eagles are 33 over par. Round one at the Marsh Creek Country Club saw Carson-Newman shoot a collective 321.

Cummins's four over par performance gives her a share of 13th. Despite shooting three bogeys, Cummins rebounded by collecting three birdies as well. It would be her double bogeys on holes 8 and 17 that would slide her down the leaderboard. Despite her day one struggles, Cummins is in a prime position for a strong finish to the tournament.

The next closest Eagle on the leaderboard was Ellie Haughton. Haughton earned a share of 24th thanks to a birdie on hole four. After one round of play, Haughton clings to a six over par score.

Hannah Holland is tied for 55th with a score of 83, Ana Herrera is tied for 62 with a score of 84, and Ashley Holland rounds out the scoring for the Eagles with an 87. She is tied for 81st.

Carson-Newman returns to action tomorrow as they will conclude the Flagler Fall Slam. Live scoring can be found on GolfStat, and a full recap on cneagles.com.
