Carson-Newman holds firm at 17th in WGCA Coaches Poll

WGCA Release

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The Carson-Newman women's golf team remains locked in at 17th in the country in the latest edition of the WGCA Coaches Poll.

The Eagles were ranked 17th in the first poll of the spring released on Feb. 25. C-N is ranked 18th in the Golfstat national rankings and 10th in the NCAA Southeast Regional rankings.

Carson-Newman joins no. 4 Limestone, no. 6 Anderson and no. 19 Wingate as the four SAC programs ranked in the poll. Lynn University holds the top spot in the poll with ten first-place votes.

The Eagles have now been ranked in five straight WGCA polls this season.

In their last time out, Carson-Newman shot a 27-over 311 in the second round, finishing second at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate tournament with a 41-over 609. That score passes Eastern Kentucky's 36-hole score of 620 in 2015 for the third-best score in Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate history. The Eagles finished ahead of several Division-I teams and SAC rival Tusculum.

Carson-Newman returns to the links for their final event of the regular season, the Lady Bearcat Invitational in Greenwood, S.C. beginning on Monday, Mar. 28.
