Eagles Eye Big Opportunity, Face Off Against No. 17 University of Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Carson-Newman (1-1) looks to build off of a tight win on Thursday, taking its first road trip of 2024 to take on No. 17 University of Charleston (2-0) on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles come into Saturday's match having not surrendered a point in its first two spring matches. Defeating Walsh University and Barton College in 7-0 fashion, Charleston proves to be a tough challenge for C-N.

The Eagles will look to two young contributors to continue producing in singles to take down the unscathed Golden Eagles. _Suryanshi and Sindija Manovska both secured singles wins in Thursday's match, with _Suryanshi earning her second of the season and Manovska helping the Eagles secure the decisive point in Thursdya's 4-3 win.

The Eagles look to continue to improve in doubles after Anita Chornei and Sindija Manovska took the No. 1 doubles match on Thursday. Despite dropping the next two, the Eagles continue to see improvement in the doubles department and look to capitalize on that.

After taking on No. 11 North Georgia and NAIA-ranked Union, C-N will face another ranked foe in No. 17 University of Charleston on Saturday in a tough opening stretch. With another big opportunity at hand, the Eagles will look to capitalize on the positives of the early season on Saturday afternoon in Charleston, West Virginia.
