C-N track and field has 13 all-region honorees

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman's track and field team's saw eight individuals earn all-region honors in 13 events for the indoor season. 

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2013-14 Division II indoor track & field season Wednesday.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.

Jessica Azor led the Eagles with three all-region honors, bringing home the distinction in the 60-meter dash, the high jump and the long jump.

Tiana Mills earned honors in the long jump and the triple jump.  Shauntae Miller picked up an all-region selection in the 400 meters. 

On the men's side, Cassadine Blassingame and Jason Williams both earned multiple all-region honors.  Blassingame netted his in the long jump and the triple jump, while Williams made it in the 60-meter dash and the long jump. 

Freshman TJ Davis also earned All-Region honors in the long jump.  Randall Freeman and Lucas Mathis garnered them for the shot put.
