90% chance of rain, 100% chance of Eagle dub

VIDEO: Cat Collins Interview

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - On a rainy Mossy Creek Friday, Carson-Newman beach secured their eighth and ninth straight wins of the season after home matches against Catawba and Erskine. The Eagles will stay on home turf for two more games tomorrow, also against Catawba and Erskine.

"I really liked the way we finished today." said head coach Cat Collins. "We did really well playing with the conditions and using them to our advantage."

Rain or shine, Collins has proven to have molded a tough group of girls, who can withstand whatever mother nature throws their way.

"It wasn't really a hinderance to us, it's something that we practice in, whether its raining or snowing, we're always out there. It's just a matter of switching our mindset to bearing with it and not playing against it."

The Eagles began their day against the Catawba Indians at 11 am, and rendered a 4-1 win to start off. C-N won in the first, second, third, and fifth seeds. Catawba managed to only clinch a win in the fourth flight where Quareels & Kimbro defeated  Ehlers and Foy 21-17 and 21-19.

The Hall/Halcrow combo in the third seed earned the highest marginal win over their opponents, allowing only a total of 17 points from Whittal and Ball.
