JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - After wrapping up the regular season on Tuesday with a double header at Tusculum, the Eagles will now venture south to Tavares, Florida for the AVCA Small Beach Championships.
The tournament will last from Friday to Sunday, April 12 through 14. There will be 16 teams competing at the Championship including SAC's Catawba and Tusculum.
The first full day of the tournament will be pool play. The Eagles are seeded third in their seed, behind the University of Tampa in first and Spring Hill College in second. The pool also contains McKendree Univirsity, who is seeded fourth.
On Friday, the Eagles will see the Tampa at 9:05 am and Spring Hill at 3:35 pm. The following morning, C-N will play McKendree at 9:05 am to finidh off pool play.
Depending on where they place in their pool, C-N will play a challenge round on Saturday afternoon that will advance them to either the gold, silver, or bronze bracket.
The Eagles faces the University of Tampa twice at the AVCA tournament last season. The Spartans took both matches 3-0. Carson-Newman also played Tampa in 2021 and lost 1-4, winning the second seed.
Carson-Newan has a brief history with Spring Hill College. The teams met last season at the tournament, the bBadgers won the match 3-0.
McKendree Universty, a team out of Lebanon, IL is a new opponent for the Eagles.
