JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Lees-McRae's Vicke Rich goal in the 19th minute was the lone score as the visiting Bobcats beat Carson-Newman, 1-0, on Monday evening at McCown Field.

With the win, Lees-McRae improves to 4-2, while the Lady Eagles fall to 2-2.

Rich chipped a loose ball just inside the top of the box to beat C-N keeper Alyssa Crum (Greeneville, Tenn.) and give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. 

LMC would make the lead stand up. It outshot Carson-Newman, 16-8.

Senior Trenna Howell (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) led the Lady Eagles with four shots, and created a couple of opportunities for herself early in the match, but C-N couldn't capitalize.

Carson-Newman returns to action on Wednesday against Milligan College at 7 p.m.
