CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Carson-Newman Track & Field closed the book on the Catamount Classic which marked their final tune-up before the league outdoor championships next week.

"Obviously the goal was to just get out of it with anybody getting hurt," David Needs stated. "It was also a goal to get better since we go in five days and to make sure their legs are fresh for conference but I was pleased with the effort."

C-N's 4x100 meter relay foursome of Noah Hill, Savion Smith, Ray Artybidge, and Drake McCowan turned in a fifth-place finish collecting four points for the team who entered day two in third-place overall. The group recorded a time of 42.55 seconds.

Tori Gaul claimed third-place and six points in the pole vault for C-N clearing a height of 3.60 meters on her second attempt. The Salisbury, N.C. native topped two vaulters from Western Carolina at No. 4 & 5, only trailing a school vaulter Marshall's Lauren Zaglifa who cleared the same height but it came on her first attempt. Unattached vaulter Taylor Drummonds cleared 4.10 meters for the top spot.

Noah Robertson cleared 4.37 meters in the pole vault on his third-attempt claiming second in the meet only trailing Catamount pole vaulter Corey Ginley who came in at 4.67 meters. The vault for Robertson grabbed eight points for the team.

Adan Vazquez just missed a top-eight spot in the 400 meters for C-N, finishing with a time of 59.89. Unattached runner Kyle Drollette came in at 59.22 followed by Lenoir-Rhyne's Sterling Jones at 59.68. Vazquez' time fell just short of his personal-best at 59.86 which was set last week at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational.

Logan Pender sat outside the top-eight finishers in the shot put at No. 9 with a throw of 13.98 meters, which topped two throwers from Western Carolina. Austin Gramann rounded out the top-14 finishers with a throw of 13.18 meters.

Trayzel Jureidini-Wyche posted a fifth-place spot and collected four points for the Eagles in the Discus throw with a distance of 43.73 meters, topping two throwers from WCU.

Abby Tomokoski checked in at No. 11 in the triple jump for C-N after jumping a distance of 10.61 meters which marks a new personal-best for the Dandridge, Tenn. freshman.

Draven Green posted a personal-best of his own in the shot put with a distance of 11.62 meters. Green also added a 16th-place finish in the discus with a distance of 33.38 meters.

Priscah Jemeli led all seven C-N runners who competed in the 400 meter dash turning in a 14th-place finish with a time of 1:00.78. It was the first time Jemeli had ever run the 400 at C-N.

Jeremiah McCarter led all C-N runners in the same event on the men's side with a 20th-place finish at 51.20 seconds.

Bekah White was the lone Eagle to compete in the 1500-meter run turning in a 28th-place time at 5:19.66.

Lindsey Williams posted a spot at No. 28 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:31.83. She also was the only Eagle to compete in the event.
