MANCHESTER, United Kingdom – After notching a fourth overall time of 10.36 seconds in the 100-meter dash for the British National and European Championships a month ago today, Carson-Newman Track All-American Kieran Showler-Davis has earned a spot on England's team for the 2018 Manchester Invitational in which he will compete as a member of the 4 x 100m race, the 100m, as well as a reserve for the 4 x 400m.
The trials last month put the senior in line for the opportunity to compete in the Invitational, a place in which he gets to put on the England vest on for the first time since early 2017 in Australia.
"I'm excited to put the vest back on obviously," Showler-Davis noted. "It's weird, I was going to end my season after the 10.26 run but after being selected it's given me that motivation to keep going and compete for my country."
The Manchester Invitational will take place on August 15th at Manchester Regional Arena. England will match up against a number of teams including Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ulster, Great Britain, among others.

Showler-Davis was tabbed All-America honors for the Eagles in both the indoor (60m) and outdoor (100m) seasons in 2018. The England native also recently collected All-Academic status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
