GREENWOOD, Ind. – Tori Gaul, Tanner Stepp, and Rebekah White have earned Google Cloud Academic All-District® honors representing Carson-Newman Track & Field.

The 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Track/Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

Gaul, who claimed second-team All-America in the pole vault at the NCAA Championships over the weekend, earned Academic All-District honors with a 3.93 grade point average in Biology & Health Professions. Gaul was one of four seniors in the NCAA District 3 which includes the Conference Carolinas, Peach Belt, and South Atlantic Conference. It's the third straight year that the Charlotte, N.C. native has received the honor.

White joins Gaul in the group of 14 to claim the award, holding a 4.00 GPA in Exercise Science, one of just three student-athletes in the group with a 4.00 GPA. The junior distance runner claimed the Elite 20 award from the league following the outdoor season for the student-athlete in the conference with the highest GPA, which included top-13 performances during the SAC Championships in both the 10K meter run and the 5K meter run (11th).

Stepp marks the third and final Eagle who has earned Academic All-District in 2018, earning the honor in back-to-back years. The Jefferson City, Tenn. native held a 3.69 GPA in accounting following his senior year. Stepp wrapped up a stellar C-N career over the weekend at the NCAA Championships, his eighth appearance in his time at Mossy Creek attending Nationals each semester.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams announced in June.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.
