Carson-Newman updates home attendance policy through Feb. 27

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's athletic department has announced that fans will not be permitted to attend any home Carson-Newman indoor events until Feb. 27 at the earliest.

This announcement is made in accordance with Tennessee governor Bill Lee's extension of his executive order issued on Dec. 20, 2020 limiting attendance at indoor events to 10 persons. An extension of that executive order would also extend Carson-Newman's policy for no fans.

"I understand this is not an ideal situation and we are certainly disappointed to have to make this decision," Carson-Newman Vice President for Athletics Matt Pope said. "However, we must keep our student-athletes, coaches, staff and community's best interests and well being at the forefront of our operations. We appreciate everyone's support of this decision. We look forward to returning to normal in the future"

Carson-Newman's Eagle Sports Network will continue to provide radio and video coverage of all home basketball events online at cneagles.com/live and over the air on The Mountain 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Seveirville).  The ESN will also broadcast home volleyball matches and swim events on Jan. 22 and Jan. 30.
