Cheerleaders take second at NCA Collegiate Cheer Camp
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Carson-Newman's spirit squads brought home a second place finish during their time at the NCA Collegiate Cheer Camp.

The Eagles finished behind Valdosta State and in front of third place Young Harris.  More than 1,200 schools sent teams to the camp.

In addition, Carson-Newman's mascot Talon brought home the award for Most Collegiate, which goes to the mascot which best represents what a college mascot should be and do, in addition to being what the mascot program should be.

The squads also brought home blue superior ribbons for their game day and rally routines.  As a result, the Eagles received a bronze bid to NCA nationals.

Last year, Carson-Newman's mascot earned All-American status at the event.
