Thomas set a career high for rushing touchdowns with four and also found the end zone once through the air in the Eagles' 35-33 win over Catawba. He piled up 291 yards of total offense, a season high 104 on the ground and a season high 173 through the air.
"It's just an honor to be in this position, I wouldn't be here without my coaches and the other 10 guys on the offensive side of the ball," Thomas said. "Without them I couldn't get it done."
The junior from Milledgeville won player of the week honors twice last year, following wins at Colorado Mines and North Greenville.
Saturday's game at Catawba marked his ninth career game with multiple rushing touchdowns and his fourth with three or more. With the four scores, he moves into a tie for ninth with Nate Inman on C-N's career rushing touchdowns list with 29.
He crested the century mark on the ground for a fourth time (the Eagles are 4-0 all-time when he goes over the century mark).
His five total touchdowns match the career high five he scored (three rushing, two passing) in the Eagles' regular season finale at Wingate last season.
Thomas and C-N return home Saturday from a three-game road trip to tangle with the Mars Hill Lions. The game has been tabbed a pink out in honor of breast cancer awareness and Take A Kid to the Game Day where children under the age of 13 get in free when accompanied by an adult paying full price for a general admission ticket.
