C-N drowns Coker with a four-goal win

HARTSVILLE, SC – Carson-Newman (8-4, 4-3 SAC) defeated conference foe Coker (5-5-2, 3-4-1 SAC) 4-0 Wednesday night.

"It was an absolute class performance by the team both offensively and defensively," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said. "Frame and Noll combined well."

Nico Noll (Esens, Niedersachsen, Germany) opened the scoring in the seventh minute of action off a ball from Ross Frame (Welshpool, Powys, United Kingdom) for his third goal of the year. Frame now holds eight assists to his name making him the team and conference leader.

The second goal came ten minutes later by Frame. Noll claimed the assist.

Eighteen minutes into second half, Jake Fielder (Talbott, Tenn.) was fouled in the box and the Eagles were awarded a penalty kick. Frame stepped up with confidence and capitalized on the penalty advancing C-N to a three-goal lead.

Two minutes later, Frame added another point to the scoreboard off another ball from Noll.

"Goals two and four were very, very special," Moodie said. "Definitely something to be proud of."

Frame now leads the SAC in points with 32 and is tied for first with 12 goals. With a total of 54, he comes in third for overall shots.

Coker outshot the Eagles 10 to seven. However, C-N landed four shots on target resulting in four goals while the Cobras placed three shots on goal.

Frame led the Eagles in shots having taken four, three of which were on goal. Noll released two shots with one on net. Daniel Jackson led the Cobras with two shots, landing one on frame.

"We've got to get ready now," Moodie said, "for Mars Hill on the road on Wednesday."
