Carey makes professional debut with LA Force

LOS ANGELES – Former Carson-Newman men's soccer player Quinton Carey made his professional soccer debut with the Los Angeles Force team on Wednesday night.

The Edmond, Okla. native made his first appearance at defender with the side in a 0-0 draw against California United Strikers FC.

LA Force is a part of the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). It currently sits at the bottom of the Western Conference table with a 0-1-1 record through the start of the fall season. The next trip onto the pitch for LA will be at the 2020 NISA Fall Tournament, set to take place from September 21 through October 2 at Keyworth Stadium in Detroit. Clubs will be seeded for that tournament once the fall season concludes.

Carey made three starts in his 18 appearances with Carson-Newman during his two seasons at Mossy Creek. His lone goal was the game winner in a 3-1 outing at Queens on Oct. 13, 2018. He sent out 14 shots throughout his career, nine landing on goal.
