JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman beach volleyball team will play its first home match of the season on Saturday, against Lincoln Memorial University.

"We are looking forward to our only in-conference opponent on the beach," beach volleyball coach Kyle Peck said. "We've had similar opponents this season, and we have both progressed throughout the season."

Carson-Newman (2-2) will attempt to build upon their win streak against Lincoln Memorial (4-9). Last season the Eagles swept the Railsplitters 5-0 and 4-1 at the Carson-Newman beach volleyball courts. The matches marked the first time that the beach volleyball team had played an official home match in program history.

It's been three weeks since the Eagles last played a match, but the Eagles are coming off of back-to-back victories against Missouri Baptist and the University of Tennessee Martin. Morgan Ballard and Allie Foster are rolling this season for the Eagles with a three-match win streak. The duo are 3-1 on the season when paired together.

Taylor Lowe and Anna Patton have settled in as partners with a two-game winning streak on the season. The tandem is 2-1 on the year while paired together. Eileen Anderson and Marnie Streeter are the only other Eagle pairing with multiple wins on the season.

The pairings of Alex Biro and Morgan Harlan, Kendall Cooley and Natalie Harris, and Abbie McFarlane and Hannah Robertson each have a win this season when paired together.

Lincoln Memorial is currently riding a two match winning streak of their own, with victories over Division I opponents Jacksonville State and Austin Peay.

The Railsplitters No.1 pairing of Abby Cash and Jamie Jehne are tied for the team lead in wins on the year with four. Joining them is No. 5 team of Beka Wachob and Erica Whiteaker, who have also won four matches this season.

The No. 2 tandem of Samantha Cash and Danielle Ged are 3-9 this season. Joining them at the 3-9 mark is the No. 3 tandem of Brooke Fleeman and Bristol Snider. The pairing of Kiera Holland and Lindsey Nartker have also maintained a record of 3-9 on the season.

This is the first of three meeting between the schools this season.
