Eagles looking for redemption against Railsplitters

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman beach volleyball team will play host to Lincoln Memorial for the second time in 10 days, with a 3:30 p.m. first serve at the Carson-Newman sand volleyball courts on Tuesday afternoon.

 

The last time these two teams met Lincoln Memorial (7-11) came away with a 4-1 victory over Carson-Newman (2-3). The Eagles lone victory on the day came at the No. 1 pairing when Taylor Lowe (Franklin, Tenn.) and Morgan Harlan (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) defeated the team of Samantha Cash and Danielle Ged 21-16, 14-21, 17-15.

 

The Eagles have done a lot of shifting with its pairings this season. The tandem of Morgan Ballard and Allie Foster (Johnson City, Tenn.) are the only pair to have played all five beach matches this season, going 3-2 on the year. The pairing of Lowe and Anna Patton (Franklin, Tenn.) have gone 2-1 this season, splitting time at the No.1 and No.2 positions.

 

The pairing of Eileen Anderson (Pittstown, N.J.) and Marnie Streeter (Gol have gone 2-2 this year and have had the best success at the No. 3 spot in the lineup. Alex Biro and Morgan Harlan have found success together as a top two pairing going 1-2 on the season.

 

The Railsplitters on the other hand are coming off of a 2-2 performance at the UAB Blazer Beach Duals Tournament. The 'Splitters two victories both came against Tennessee-Martin, their two losses came against UAB and the University of New Mexico.

 

The Railsplitters two best tandems from a statistical standpoint are the teams of Kiera Holland, Lindsey Nartker and Beka Wachob, Erica Whiteaker. Holland and Narker have compiled an overall record of 7-11, playing primarily at the No. 4 position. The tandem of Wachob and Whiteaker are 7-10 this season playing primarily at the No.5 position.

 

The top tandem of Abby Cash and Jamie Jehne is currently on a three match winning streak and have gone 6-8 overall on the season. The No. 2 and No. 3 teams have combined to go 8-24 this season for LMU.
