JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Looking to end the regular season on a high note, Carson-Newman (6-6-3, 4-4-2) welcomes Tusculum (2-9-4, 2-6-2) to McCown Field on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.

Carson-Newman enters the match fifth in the South Atlantic Conference standings and cannot move up any higher than that. The Eagles will either be a five or six seed in the SAC tournament. A win or tie makes C-N the five seed. A loss and a Lincoln Memorial victory over Emory & Henry would give C-N the six seed.

The Eagles closed the month of October 2-3-1 overall, with the tie being most recently against Limestone. Wednesday night's November contest will be C-N's first regular season November game since it fell to Lenoir-Rhyne on Nov. 3, 2021. The Eagles' last regular season win in November came against Tusculum, a 3-2 overtime win.

C-N leads the all-time series 21-19-3 against TU and has a five-match unbeaten streak on the Pioneers. The last time Tusculum beat Carson-Newman was Oct. 3rd, 2018, in Mossy Creek. In last year's regular season finale, Savannah Fields scored in the 5th minute to give C-N the early lead. The defense kept TU off the board for 79 minutes, before a long pass downfield set up the Pioneers for a scoring opportunity and Chayse Stonebraker took advantage to tie the match at a goal apiece.

In a tie with Limestone this past Saturday, Carson-Newman scored at least two goals in a match for a seventh time this season. The Eagles are 5-0-2 when scoring multiple goals in a match.

Recording an assist last week, Felicia Frick (Eschen, Liechtenstein) now has a team-high six this season. That mark is fifth best in the SAC and is the most by a C-N player since Molly Bukiewicz had six during the 2020 season.

Tusculum enters Wednesday's match in a three-way tie for eighth place in the South Atlantic Conference standings. The Pioneers are one point back of the seventh spot held by Mars Hill. If TU stayed in a three-way tie after the day's games, it would depend on the various results to determine who wins the tiebreaker.

The Pioneers head into the regular season finale with a 2-9-4 overall record and a 2-6-2 SAC record. TU has gone five straight matches without a win. Their last victory came on October 7th, a 2-1 win over Limestone.

Sydney Grant paces the TU attack with a team-high four goals and three assists. Only six other Pioneers have scored a goal this season, with two of them scoring twice.

GK Grayson Patterson ranks first in the SAC with 76 saves, averaging more than five per game. It's a Pioneer defense allowing 2.67 goals per match and a group that only has two shutouts this season.

Kick off from McCown Field is set for 7:30 p.m. The game can be streamed on FloSports with a subscription. Fans can also follow along to @CN_Eagles on Twitter and Instagram for in-game updates.
