JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Senior Taryn Cappadonna (Kennesaw, Ga.) grabbed a point at both No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles as the Carson-Newman Lady Eagles beat Young Harris in their season opener, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at the C-N Tennis Complex.
Cappadonna and freshman Stefy Stand combined on an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Cappadonna would also win comfortably at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
Senior Stephanie Goode (Maryville, Tenn.), sophomore Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.), and freshman Katie Brown (Douglasville, Ga.) each went 2-0 in winning in doubles and singles.
The Lady Eagles return to action on Feb. 27 at home against Francis Marion University.
