Lady Eagles fall at No. 39 Wingate, 7-2

WINGATE, N.C. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team fell at No. 39 Wingate, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon in the Bulldogs' inaugural breast cancer awareness match at the Wingate University Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Lady Eagles drop to 4-5 on the season and 0-3 in SAC play. Wingate improves to 14-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

The Lady Eagles lost all three doubles matches to start the day, and freshmen Stefy Stand (Ecuador) and Katie Brown (Douglasville, Ga.) won their respective singles matches for C-N's only points of the match.

The Lady Eagles return to the court on Wednesday at Tusculum. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
