Lady Eagles cruise past Covenant, 8-1, in season finale

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over Covenant College on Monday to close out the regular season.

With the win, the Lady Eagles finish the year at 9-10 overall.

The Lady Eagles swept the doubles action to take control of the match early. Senior Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.) and freshman Katie Brown (Douglasville, Ga.) won at No. 1 doubles. Freshman Stefy Stand (Ecuador) and freshman Devon Jennings (Summertown, Tenn.) teamed up for a win at No. 2 doubles, while sophomore Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.) and senior Stephanie Goode (Maryville, Tenn.) won at No. 3 doubles.

C-N then won five out of six singles matches on its way to the win. Singles winners were Cappadona, Stand, Brown, Goode and Wilson.
