Lady Eagles cruise past Georgetown, 7-2

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory over Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday afternoon in its final home match of the regular season.

With the win, the Lady Eagles improve to 8-10 on the season.

The Lady Eagles were led again by freshman Stefy Stand (Ecuador) as she teamed up with Devon Jennings (Summertown, Tenn.) for a win at No. 2 doubles. She also won at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.) and senior Stephanie Goode (Maryville, Tenn.) won at No. 3 doubles.

Other singles winners for the Lady Eagles were freshman Katie Brown (Douglasville, Ga.) at No. 3 singles, Goode at No. 4 singles, Wilson at No. 5 singles and Tiffany Delias (Morristown, Tenn.) at No. 6 singles.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Monday at Covenant. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m.
