BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — The Carson-Newman women's tennis team defeated Union College, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Lady Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season.
Junior Kyle Elliott (Maryville, Tenn.) and senior Stephanie Goode (Maryville, Tenn.) claimed an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Katie Brown (Douglasville, Ga.) and Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.) won by default.
Freshman Stefy Stand (Ecuador) won 6-0, 5-7 and 11-9 in No. 2 singles action, while Brown won 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Goode claimed a 6-1 and 6-0 win at No. 4, and Wilson picked up a 6-1 and 6-1 victory at No. 5. Kate Walker (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) won by default.
The Lady Eagles return to action today at home against Lees-McRae. Match time is 2:30 p.m.
