ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman College's Stephanie Cutter has been named South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week, SAC officials announced Monday. Cutter wins the award for the second time this season.
The senior setter from Murfreesboro, Tenn., helped the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 week with victories over Tusculum and Queens. Cutter was just one kill away from tallying a triple-double on Tuesday night in an epic battle between C-N and TC in SAC action as she posted a match-high 36 assists, 20 digs and nine kills.
She followed up that performance leading all players with 27 assists helping the team to a season-high .493 hitting percentage on the contest Friday against Queens.
"(Stephanie) Cutter played with such enthusiasm Tuesday night. Her intensity led the team to excel as it was the last regular season ‘Tusculum' opportunity for our seniors," said Head Coach Shannon Mincey. "The Carson-Newman/Tusculum match has always been a fun rivalry and this recognition is good for our team and should propel us into the last final matches of conference play."
Joining Cutter with weekly honors is Wingate's Lauren Billo (Orland Park, Ill.) as she was named SAC Volleyball Player of the Week.
The South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player and Specialist of the week are selected by the staff of the SAC league office.
