JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman senior first baseman Caitlyn Lance (East Ridge, Tenn.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. Lance becomes the third C-N athlete to make an all-district team this academic year following C-N football's William Alderman and Curt Duncan.
Lance carries a 3.61 GPA as a biology and health professions major. She is a member of Alpha Chi and is a part of the top 10 percent of her class at Carson-Newman.
In addition, Lance is a member of Carson-Newman's Mortar Board, the school's senior honor society for service and leadership.
On the field, Lance is Carson-Newman's all-time career leader in putouts with 1,747. She only made 11 errors out of 1,833 total chances.
In her senior season, Lance hit .316 with 12 doubles, a triple and a home run. She set a career high with seven total bases in a win at Anderson and had 11 multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games in her senior season.
